Forest City Owls Awarded Prestigious Coastal Plain League All-Star Game in July 2024
Forest City, NC — The Forest City Owls proudly announce their selection as the host city for the prestigious Coastal Plain League’s annual All-Star Game, set to take place on Monday night, July 8, 2024, at the renowned McNair Field. This exciting event will serve as the centerpiece of a weekend-long celebration, featuring an array of entertaining activities, including skills competitions, clinics, a home run derby, and other exciting events to be unveiled in due course.
Phil Dangel, Owner of the Owls, expressed his enthusiasm for this great opportunity. “We are extremely thrilled and deeply honored to showcase McNair Field and Rutherford County to all 15 team owners, along with scouts from every major league team,” stated Dangel. “This speaks volumes about the quality of our venue, our team, our coaches, and the warm hospitality of Forest City. We anticipate welcoming parents and players from across the Southeast to Rutherford County for the very first time. This is a monumental occasion and a tremendous compliment to both the County and the Town. Local businesses, including hotels and restaurants, can anticipate a substantial boost in business during the event.
While the full schedule for the Owls’ 2024 season will be released in mid-October, there is no doubt that the All-Star Game will be a highlight. Dangel added, “We are actively brainstorming numerous innovative ideas for the weekend including possibly a concert on Sunday night after the skills competition, with our primary goal being to create a memorable experience for fans and players alike.”
Mayor Steve Holland also extended his congratulations, emphasizing the significant impact this event will have on the community. “The town of Forest City is elated to host the 2024 All-Star Game,” said Mayor Holland. “This presents a remarkable opportunity for our city and county to showcase our region. The All-Star Game is anticipated to feature approximately 65 players representing the East and West squads, with scouts from every Major League team in attendance at both the game and the skills competition.
