a) Chimney Sweepers comes from Burnt Chimney, which is Forest City’s original name.
b) Shiners comes from from moonshine, part of the lore of Forest City.
c) Outlaws comes from the 1930s when the Owls were part of an outlaw league and part of the textile team baseball league.
d) Rutherford County Gold represents the significance of Rutherford County in the 1800s gold rush and in 1832 minting the first $1 gold coin, before the U.S. Mint.
