●4:00pm – Contestants begin setup * 6:00am – Cooking begins
●7:00pm – Setup complete * 5:00pm – 6:00pm Judging
●7:00pm – Cooks meeting * 5:45pm – Gates Open
● * 6:00pm – Sampling Serving
● * 7:00pm – Baseball game starts
● * 3rd inning Awards Presentation
ADDITIONAL RULES & REGULATIONS:
1.Chief Cook will be responsible for the conduct of his/her team/guests.
2.NO MUSIC or loud or profane language allowed.
3.NO PETS allowed.
4.All cooking spaces will be numbered and pre-assigned by the Burnt Chimney committee. No changes will be allowed.
5.Parking will be in the McNair Field parking lot.
6.Each team will be provided a 90-100lb whole hog.
7.NO charcoal or wood embers are to be emptied in McNair Field.
8.Drip pans for grease will be used. A grease barrel will be centrally located. All grease will be emptied into the grease barrel.
9.Forest City Fire Department Fire Marshall will inspect gas tanks for leaks, solid connections, gas tanks secured in or to something to prevent them from being
turned over and each teams fire extinguisher.
10.Each team is to have the following on hand for judging:
a)Four sharp knives
b)Four cups or bottles of water
c)Towels (paper or cloth)
d)Small container of your sauce
e)Hand Washing Station with water, soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels and a container to catch grey water
11.The Chief Cook shall be the only person permitted to present the pig during the judging process.
12.If and when a Chief Cook decides to withdraw or disqualifies his/her pig from the competition, he/she will notify the committee as soon as possible.
13.Any pig judged not done will be disqualified. Cooks are to keep cooking the pig until it is judged to be done in the opinion of the cooking committee.
14.THERE WILL BE NO PASSES. Cooks will be given enough time to complete their pig. If the Chief Cook is not ready for judging, he/she will be disqualified.
15.A Burnt Chimney committee member will be assigned to accompany the judges while the pigs are being judged. The Burnt Chimney committee member will
collect all score sheets. The score sheets will contain no information that will in any manner identify the cooks or sponsors. The Burnt Chimney committee
member will total and grand total the score sheets.
16.After your pig has been judged, start preparing your pig for the sample servings.
17.Contestants may not sell any food, drinks or any other items to the public.
18.You are responsible for keeping your area clean and free of trash and cleaning up your cook site when the event has ended.
19.NO team will be allowed to breakdown until after the baseball game has ended. Once the game has ended and the majority of the crowd has exited McNair
Field, teams are allowed to enter to remove their cookers and equipment. All cookers and equipment must be removed no later than 2 hours after the game has
ended. The Town of Forest City and the Forest City Owls Organization and employees will not be held responsible for any cookers or equipment left on the
premises after the 2 hour deadline.
20.Decisions of the Judges are final.
21.The Burnt Chimney committee reserves the right to make additional rules and regulations as the situation warrants.
